I really enjoyed this book. Just goes to show that a cop, dog and navy seal can live and love. Want more.
An m/m security suspense romance. I really like the guys- Ryan- the cop, and Dec- the ex-SEAL with PTSD, and his wonderful service dog, Pax. Loved the emotion and heat between these two guys, and the fact they're both sexy hot alpha males. Like the interesting sub-characters- Cindi and Mal. I just felt the plot was a tad unrealistic. If Dec is an ex-SEAL why does he seem to be stumbling through the whole setting up of his new security business, and getting clients? He seems to not know what to do. And if he's got Pax following him around everywhere- how is he ever going to come across as professional and make his clients feel confidence in him? If he doesn't feel safe in his everyday environment- how is he going to make his clients feel safe? Hopefully, eventually Dec won't have to rely on Pax for so much emotional support and just keep her as a pet and occasionally use her for help in his business. And also he needs to research and define the parameters of his business, and what he'll be offering the clients in the future. And last- he somehow needs to find an influx of cash and company transportation. This business sounds very expensive, and what if he has to go out of town? Despite all of this- I'm looking forward to reading the next in the series.
I love a story with two Alpha males, a plot , and steamy sex scenes. This book had it all and was a great read.
This was a fun, fast paced, book with a mystery that had me guessing at possible perpetrators and motives. I thought that the characters were believable and well written, though I have to admit that I was much more emotionally invested in Ryan than in Declan. I'm excited to see more in this series.
Living in Southern Mass, I love stories based in my State,especially Boston and I love M/M cop love stories. Since this book has both, I was a happy camper. I liked how Cayto didn't sugarcoat the issues that our veterans are facing and how important service dogs are to helping those veterans. I felt she did a great job in researching that and that she wrote a good crime drama/love story. I hope there is a book 2. Maybe Cindi gets her happy ending??
